The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT Exam) is the gateway for admission into the Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) Programme. GPAT Exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Based on the scores of the GPAT 800 participating institutes allow the candidates for admission in India.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Lateral entry students must 4 years of graduation.

Who is not Eligible

B. Tech or equivalent students are not eligible to apply for the GPAT 2024 Exam.

Applications Process

For the GPAT Exam application form candidates should fill out the first register and then enter their details related to academic, personal, qualifying examination details, etc. Thereafter scanned images of the photo and signature are uploaded.

There are some steps to fill out the GPAT 2024 Exam application form:

Step 1 = Registration

Candidates first give their personal and contact details, choose a password, and then submit them. A system-generated application number must be noted down.

This is used for the remaining details and steps in the GPAT exam application form. Application no. is also further used for future correspondence and subsequent login.

Step 2 = GPAT Exam Application Form Complete

After completing the registration candidates login with their application no. and password to fill in the remaining details.

Step 3 = Upload Scanned Images & Signature

Both the images and signatures should be in JPG / JPEG format. The size of the images uploaded should be between 10 KB to 20 KB while that of the signature should be between 4 KB to 30 KB.

Step 4 = Pay the Examination Fees

Candidates must have to deposit the application fees online mode. Candidates can use Credit Cards/Debit Cards/Net Banking /Paytm /BHIM-UPI /Others. Below are the following amounts for different categories.

Step 5 = Print Confirmation Page

After successful payment, Candidates can print the confirmation page. This is to be kept safe for future reference.

Marking Scheme

Candidates should know the marking system before appearing for the exam. Which will help the candidates to give the questions answer into the exam.

Other than after the release of the answer key, it will help the calculation of the probable marks.

  • Each question carries 4 Marks.
  • In total 125 questions carry (125×4 = 500) marks.
  • A negative Marking 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Unattempted questions or unanswered questions don’t attract any negative marks.
  • More than one answer to one question will be considered wrong.

Admit Card

The Admit Card for the GPAT 2024 Exam is available at gpat.nta.in the website, which is released by National Testing Agency (NTA). The Admit Card contains the candidates’ details.

It is necessary to check the name spelling, Date of Birth, Hall Ticket Number exam center, etc. before downloading the Admit Card. If a candidate fails to carry an Admit Card, they aren’t allowed to enter the examination hall.

Exam Instructions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) publishes a particular guideline that is to be followed by the candidates on exam day. Below are the GPAT 2024 Exam Day guidelines in a nutshell.

i) The candidates should report to the examination center two hours before the commencement of the examination to complete the frisking and registration formalities.

ii) The registration desk closes 60 minutes before the examination starts.

iii) The candidates show on demand the Admit Card for entry into the examination hall.

iv) If candidates fail to show the original Admit Card shouldn’t be allowed for the examination under any circumstances.

v) For Those Candidates who don’t appear on the scheduled date of the exam for any reason, NTA shouldn’t be responsible for the conduct of the re-test.

Exam Answer Key

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the answer key in online mode in pdf format. This is the correct answer key to the asked questions in the entrance exam.

Aspirants can check their scores with the help of the answer key. If any answer may be wrong, candidates can cross-check and challenge them. If the answer key proves truly wrong then requisites fees surely be refunded.

NTA also released question papers and candidates’ response sheets on the date. This can be accessed by the login details.

How to calculate your probable scores:

• Using the official marking scheme of NTA calculate your score. According to their marking for every correct answer rewarded 4 marks but for every wrong answer, 1 mark was deducted.

• GPAT Score = ( 4× no. of correct response) + ( 1× no. of incorrect response)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the cut-off and merit list along with the GPAT Exam results. The merit list consists of the details about the Candidate’s name, Roll no., All India Ran, Sectional Percentile, and overall Percentile.
